Anyone familiar with the knowledge areas in the PMI® guide who believes the certification might advance their career or earnings potential.

In their “Project Management Job Growth and Talent Gap Report // 2017-2027,” PMI® asserts there will consistent demand for project managers over the next decade, with the largest growth attributed to healthcare, at 17%.

7,500 hours leading and directing projects
35 hours of project management education

When should I apply?

PM’isms recommends applying close to the time you take our Boot Camp courseOur courses fulfill the requirement for 35 hours of project management education, thus you may apply the day after you complete our course!  Sit for the exam as soon as possible, within a month.

Contact information, along with details of the projects, programs, portfolios you’ve worked on including qualifying hours, dates of employment, role, organization details, reference, and experience summary.  Relevant education — names of courses completed, institutions attended, dates, qualifying hours.    Certification application link

PM’isms recommends reviewing the application material and gathering everything you need before commencing.  There are a lot of details!  PMI® has created a guide to help you.

Application review:

PMI® will review your application,  typically between 5-10 business days.  Occasionally, an application will be selected for random audit.  Make sure contact information for your work and education history is up to date, to facilitate this process.


Once your application is accepted, you’ll receive an invoice from PMI®.   After payment is received, you’ll receive an eligibility number and have one year to schedule your exam.  They’ll give you information regarding how and where to sit for your exam!
